A clinical psychotherapy intern is currently in training and supervised by a senior psychotherapist/clinical supervisor. This means they are in the midst of completing either a Master of Social Work, or a Master of Counselling Psychology from an Accredited University. Generally, educational requirements have been completed and they are in the process of completing their final program requirement - the practicum component (clinical hours).

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) registrants are subject to same standards and professional obligations that apply to those in the full Registered Psychotherapist category, and both categories are subject to the same Quality Assurance mechanisms and accountability frameworks.

Psychotherapy is primarily a talk-based therapy and is intended to help people improve and maintain their mental health and well-being.

Psychotherapy occurs when the Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and client enter into a psychotherapeutic relationship where both work together to bring about positive change in the client’s thinking, feeling, behaviour and social functioning. Individuals usually seek a psychotherapist or clinical social worker when they have thoughts, feelings, moods and behaviours that are adversely affecting their day-to-day lives, relationships and the ability to enjoy life

Hannah has worked within the social services for several years working in residential programs with children and adults as well as the shelter system with folks experiencing homelessness. Through this, she has gained invaluable experience in harm reduction, trauma informed practice, and community mental health.

With her own experience with mental health and ADHD, Hannah is familiar with the challenges it brings. Hannah strives to connect with people and provide them a space where they feel heard, understood, and respected. Working from a strength based, attachment focused approach, Hannah understands that each client is uniquely different and she values these differences.

She holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto with a specialization in Children and their Families and a Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in psychology from Toronto Metropolitan University.

She wants people to be able to live their lives to the fullest and be their best selves and works collaboratively to develop goals that are meaningful to each individual. Since 2008, Danielle has been committed to supporting adults living with mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, addiction, ADHD, and psychotic disorders. Her extensive experience spans residential, community, and justice system settings, where she has worked as a counsellor, advocate, and educator.

Danielle has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and Sociology and is a graduate student at Yorkville University in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program. Danielle thrives on empowering clients through a strengths-based, person-centered, and holistic approach. She recognizes that each individual requires a unique and tailored therapeutic method to achieve their goals and wellness. Her therapeutic practice is focused on creating a safe and understanding environment where clients feel heard, respected, and supported.

Danielle’s areas of interest include anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, parenting struggles, and marriage challenges. Katie has worked in the social services field for 6 years, gaining experience working with adolescents with developmental disabilities and complex behavioural concerns, as well as with adolescents and adults in a residential setting who are experiencing mental health and addiction crises. Throughout this time, she has gained invaluable experience in harm reduction, trauma-informed practice, safety planning, psychosocial rehabilitation, and community mental health. Katie has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from McMaster University and has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Katie takes a person-centered, strength-based approach and is passionate about working collaboratively with folks to achieve the mental wellness that we all deserve. Stephanie is a registered social worker with over ten years experience working in community mental health and addictions. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from University of Guelph; post-graduate certificate in Concurrent Disorders and a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Her clinical experience in primary care has focused on helping adults who are living with addictions, anxiety, depression and chronic stress. Stephanie has a passion for working with individuals experiencing difficulties and stress related to parenting, as well as those who struggle with managing healthy boundaries in relationships.

Stephanie uses a strength based, person-centred approach in therapy to best understand unique individual needs. Collaboratively, she works alongside individuals to develop a plan for recovery. Her specialized training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) contribute to her eclectic therapeutic approach.
